Now there is an update. After the news went viral, most of people criticized Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan’s decision. Angelo Mathews even called him a ‘cheat’ on social media. Even the Bangladesh bowling coach Allan Donald said that he was disappointed by this and doesn't support things like players appealing for time out. He said, “My immediate reaction when that happened, was that I almost actually thought of going on the field and saying, ‘Enough’s enough, we do not stand for this.” He added, “Things happened so quickly, and I’m not the head coach, I’m not in charge. I just saw the Umpire say, ‘Angelo, you can now depart the ground,’ and seeing Angelo picking his helmet up and throwing it against the advertising boards, I was surprised.” However, Shakib continued to defend his decision by saying that it was within the rules and that he was only following the rules as his aim was to make his team win. He was only following rules. But it looks like Karma has played his turn on Shakib as some people are saying. "Shakib was struck on his left index finger early in his innings but continued to bat with supportive taping and painkillers." He underwent an emergency X-ray after the game which confirmed the fracture. Recovery is estimated at three to four weeks." Due to this, he has been ruled out of the World Cup. Shakib will miss his team’s last World Cup match and the Bangladesh Cricket Board has decided to replace him with Anamul Haque. Karma maybe!
