A Bengaluru-based E-commerce company, Meesho, has announced an 11-day company-wide mental health break.
A Bengaluru-based E-commerce company, Meesho, has announced an 11-day company-wide mental health break in a way to prioritise employee well-being and mental health once the upcoming festive season rush ends. The online E-commerce fashion store will allow all its staff to “reset and recharge” from October 22, 2022 through November 1, 2022 in what will be the second consecutive year of such an initiative. “At a time when burnout and anxiety have emerged as key concerns for today’s workforce, Reset and Recharge will show the way for other companies to adopt similar employee-first practices,” an official statement by Meesho said.
Founder and chief technology officer of the E-commerce startup, Sanjeev Barnwal, announced the decision on Twitter stressing the importance of work-life balance which, at this point, is nothing more than a myth. Every other company and organisation in the corporate world looks at their employees just as a medium to earn money. With this break, the company aims at better performance by the employees after they return to work. This will not only help the Company to perform its operation with more efficiency but also ensure physical and mental wellbeing of its employee’s. “Whether it’s spending time with near and dear ones, travelling or picking up a new hobby. Such progressive policies have helped augment our employee centricity and industry-leading retention rates.” The company, which was founded in 2015, has aggressively pushed forward-looking policies — including a “boundaryless” workplace model, introducing an infinite wellness leave and gender-neutral parental leave — in the past.
