Amitabh Bachchan Tests Negative & Discharged

Amitabh Bachchan has tested negative for COVID-19 and has finally returned home.

Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan were admitted to Mumbai's Nanavati Hospital on 11th July as they had tested positive for coronavirus. Abhishek's wife Aishwarya and their 8 year old daughter had also tested positive and were briefly in the hospital and returned home on 27th July. Amitabh Bachchan returned home on Sunday 3rd August. On Sunday 3rd July Amitabh Bachchan in his blog post wrote, "It has been heartening to be back from the hospital after 'mukti' from the coronavirus." But he wrote that he is returning home with "a sour taste" in his mouth as his son Abhishek Bachchan is still in the hospital. Abhishek is still coronavirus positive. He also said that he was feeling bad for Abhishek and prayed that he would come home soon. In his official blog he also wrote that qualified specialists are working day in day out to fight with this unique disease and are struggling to find a cure. 

Amitabh Bachchan was in the hospital for more than three-weeks. During his stay in the hospital he had frequently written posts of gratitude for the doctors and healthcare workers. Abhishek Bachchan had tweeted "I, unfortunately due to some comorbidity, this is why he has to remain in the hospital because he is still COVID-19 positive. Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah aged 55 years has tested positive for coronavirus. Sources said he has been admitted to Medanta hospital in Haryana's Gurugram near Delhi. 

Mr Shah had attended a cabinet meeting on 29th July. The meeting was attended by all top ministers, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. All safety norms of social distancing were followed.

On 3rd August Karnataka’s Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa too tested positive for Covid – 19. He tweeted that he was being hospitalized as per recommendations of the doctors. He too asked people who were in contact with him, to self isolate themselves. Last week Madhya Pradesh’s Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan tested positive for the virus. He has been in hospital for nine days, and tweeted today to say that he was well. Tamil Nadu's Governor Banwarilal Purohit has also tested positive for coronavirus on 3rd August. He is admitted in Chennai's Kauvery Hospital. The hospital said that he is asymptomatic and stable.
