2757 People Ordered Condoms on 31st December 2022

At the end of the year, the online food delivery apps Zomato & Swiggy have revealed yearly report, one of which states that a man ordered food worth Rs 28 lakh through Zomato.

You might call yourself a foody, but on a verge of what extent? What is the maximum amount of food orders you can place in a year? No matter how hard you try, you won’t be able to break the record set by a man from Pune in Maharashtra. As the year 2022 comes to an end, food delivery apps like Zomato and Swiggy have revealed the top trends of 2022. Zomato's annual report revealed that a Delhi man placed over 3000 food orders this year, which are around 9 orders per day. The online food delivery app has revealed many more interesting insights, one of which states that a Pune man ordered food worth Rs 28 lakh through the Zomato app. Yes, you heard that right. The online food delivery app revealed a Pune resident spent Rs 28 lakh on Zomato this year. 

The company picked many more customers who placed record orders through the Zomato app. In the year end report, Zomato revealed that customers spent lavishly this year, wherein one of them ordered pizzas worth over Rs 25,000 in a single order. The company revealed that a Delhi-based user placed 3300 orders through the app this year while another user ordered 1,098 cakes through the app. Not just that, Zomato also revealed another user managed to get discounts worth Rs 6.96 lakh in 2022. Another Surat-based Zomato user received a shout-out from the food delivery app for sending a "thank you" message on Zomato chat support every time he received his order. As per the annual report, Zomato delivered 186 biryanis every minute in 2022. The scenario remains the same with the rival platform Swiggy. Swiggy also revealed that the most ordered dish on its platform is none other than Biryani. As per the report, Biryani was followed by Masala Dosa, Chicken Fried Rice, Paneer Butter Masala, Butter Naan, Veg Fried Rice, Veg Biryani, and Tandoori Chicken. Just like Zomato users, some Swiggy users also placed record orders this year. One of the users, based out of Bengaluru, ordered groceries worth Rs 16 Lakh from Swiggy Instamart. The food delivery app also revealed that a man from Bengaluru placed a single order worth Rs 75,378 during Diwali. 

Moreover, the food delivery platform Swiggy made an unusual tweet and shared about the massive surge in condom sales on Instacart on the new year's day. Not just this, they further requested their customers to order 6969 condoms so that they can say ‘nice’. They also tagged Durex India and their grocery delivery platform Swiggy Instamart. A few minutes later, Durex India responded to the tweet, and their witty reply has sparked chatter online. Durex, in its response, thanked Swiggy for delivering the condoms and went on to say that they know at least 2757 are having a banging new year and said that they hope they order coffee together tomorrow morning.While responding to Swiggy’s tweet. Swiggy Instamart responded to this and wrote, “@durexindia the people who ordered these 2757 condoms are probably not reading this right now.”

Swiggy’s tweet, since being shared on 31st December, has received more than 4.3 lakh views and over 8,400 likes. It has also raked up several comments and retweets, here’s how social media users reacted to the tweet. “Hey @Swiggy Can you please send some sympathy for singles??” commented an individual. “Thanks for the fast delivery,” shared another. “Does your mission accomplished or not?
