176 People Killed in Iran Plane Crash

A Ukraine International Airlines flight crashed killing all the 176 passengers on board in Iran.

On 8th January, a flight of the Ukraine International Airlines, took off from Imam Khomeini Airport at 6:00am. 

167 passengers and nine crew members were on board.The flight was going to Boryspil International Airport in Kiev. which is the capital of Ukraine. After the flight took off it disappeared. Iran officials then confirmed that the flight had crashed and everyone on board were dead. The Ukrainian Embassy in Tehran, Iran said this wasn’t an act of terrorism. Their investigations have revealed that the crash was caused by an engine malfunction. 

Pirhossein Koulivand, the head of Iran's Emergency Medical Services said the flight crashed between  the cities of Parand and Shahriar.He said the Emergency crews were sent to the crash site but could not assist because the area was on fire. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is on a trip to Oman. When he heard about the crash he said he will immediately cancel his trip and return to Ukraine. He has offered sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of all passengers and crew members.
