1 Husband in India, 1 in Pakistan & Herself in Jail. Who's Sanam Khan?
Thane Police have arrested a woman allegedly named Sanam Khan under the suspicion of being a Pakistani spy after she submitted fake documents to get an Indian passport.

A similar yet different story is now going viral after a woman allegedly named Sanam Khan was arrested by the Thane Police on 20th July 2024 under the suspicion of being a Pakistani spy.
The story began 3 years ago. Sanam left her husband with her two daughters at her in-laws and returned to her mother’s house in Thane claiming that her husband abused & beat her.
Soon afterwards, Sanam met Babar Bashir Ahmed from Abbottabad, Pakistan through social media.
Sanam & Babar fell in love with each other after continuously communicating with each other for a few months.
Sanam felt that they both were “made for each other.” Their respective families also accepted their love & agreed to get them married but them being different countries & the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions & lockdowns of the time were the ultimate problems.
According to the reports, Sanam wanted to give true love a chance, and it did not matter to her whether it was India or Pakistan.
Finally, after nearly 2 years the families talked on a video call and finalised the marriage.
In 2023, Sanam found a passport & visa agent near their house. He helped Sanam with all the necessary paperwork & formalities required to get an Indian passport & visa for Pakistan.
Sanam got passports made for herself and her daughters for ?20,000.
In June 2024, Sanam & her daughter left for Pakistan on a 1-month visa. She met & married Babar in Pakistan and got her daughters admitted to a school there.
On 17th July 2024, Sanam returned to India via the Attari border to allegedly meet her mother who was not keeping well. After she returned, she also applied for a 6-month extension of her visa.
On 20th July 2024, the Thane Police arrested Sanam accusing her of getting a passport and Pakistan visa made by submitting fake documents.
The Police claim that Sanam’s real name is “Nagma Noor Maqsood Ali” but she got her name written as Sanam on her passport, visa and other documents.
They also accused her of forging her daughter’s birth certificates and getting fake Aadhaar and PAN cards.
Sanam has told her full story to the police. She claimed that her family forced her to marry her first husband against her will when she was just 15-16 years old.
She said “My previous husband used to beat me and force himself on me. I had two daughters from that marriage. He neither earned nor took care of the girls. My mother also did not come to meet me often, so I was left alone.”
She added that she left her husband's house and came to live with her mother in Thane after the birth of her 2nd daughter. She claimed that she was so desperate at that time that she even tried to commit suicide.
But soon, Babar came into her life as a breath of fresh air.
She said “He (Babar) used to treat me very well. He used to ask me how I was doing during the coronavirus period. For the first time in years, I felt that someone wanted to know about me.”
Sanam has denied all the allegations. She asked the police, “There has been no fraud. I changed my name in 2015 and the passport was issued after police verification, so why am I being harassed now?”
However, there is no valid evidence of her name change, and therefore Police suspect Sanam (Nagma) to be a Pakistani spy.
A case against her has been registered under the Indian Passport Act with sections of forgery and fraud included.
The central agencies will now question her to find out if Sanam’s story is true or a part of some deep conspiracy to threaten India’s peace & security.
The Police have also arrested the agent who did her passport & visa paperwork.
Sanam's first (Indian) husband is also missing. Her second husband is in Pakistan, and Sanam aka Nagma is in jail.
Sanam’s (Nagma’s) mother has also refuted all the allegations made by the Thane Police. She claims that Sanam (Nagma) had changed her and her daughters’ names after separating from her first husband in 2015. What do you think?
