Sharad was a teenager. He loved adventures and challenges. He loved dangerous challenges. His parents
worried a lot about his safety.Sharad loved riding his bike at high speed. When people saw him riding fast,
they were stunned and would stare open-mouthed. His college principal and teachers warned him many
times. They said that he was a bad role model for other students as they were trying to copy him. Sharad
laughed and said “I have perfect control of the bike and I am confident of my skills.”
Some time back Sharad had started practicing to ride his bike on a single wheel. He had skidded and fallen
down many times and had hurt himself. But still he did not listen to parents and teachers advice. His friends
were proud of him and encouraged him. They never cautioned him. One day Sharad’s friends challenged him
to ride the bike on a single wheel in the college campusSome good students tried to stop him. They said, “It is
very dangerous as the road is not even.” ‘But Sharad ignored them.
People walking on the road were asked to move away, the road was cleared. Sharad was getting ready at the
end of the road to start the bike. At that time a few students noticed an oil spill on the road. But before they
could inform Sharad he was already speeding. As he tried to lift the front wheel of his bike, the back wheel
was on the oil-spill and his bike skidded. Sharad went flying across the road. People ran to help him.
He was rushed to hospital. The doctors said that he had hurt his spine and maybe he will not be able to ride a
bike again. Everyone was shocked. Sharad felt very sad. He realized that he was foolish that he ignored
people’s warnings to be safe. Because of it, his future was a problem.
