Are you all ready to enjoy Holi on 18th March? If you're happy that you'll get to play Holi this year after a gap of two sad years of the pandemic, be prepared to save your skin and hair from the harmful chemicals of the colors. Follow these simple tricks to make your post-Holi clean-up less stressful.

  1. "Apply coconut oil, olive oil or almond oil on your skin before stepping out to play with colours. Oil creates a protective layer that acts as a barrier stopping colors from settling into the hair and skin. Oily layers will help to wash out color easily after the celebrations.

  2. It may be possible to remove colours from your face easily, but they stick to your nails for weeks. To stop this from happening, apply a coat of dark nail polish to prevent colors from sticking to the nails. After playing Holi, you'll notice your nails become yellowish. Soak your nails in lemon juice for 10 minutes to remove the yellow stain.

  3. How to remove tough colour stains: 

-Make a paste of wheat flour and oil and apply it to your skin. Leave it for a few minutes and gently massage. Then, wash off.

-Apply coconut oil on your face to melt away the colors then use a face wash.

-Use cold water to remove colors.

  1. Haircare

-Oil your hair well before playing Holi.

-After celebrations, apply a homemade hair mask using yogurt. You can make a paste with soaked [BOX 07 fenugreek seeds in curd and apply this to your scalp. Wash off with a good mild shampoo after 30 minutes.

The mask will nourish your hair and avoid any kind of damage.

  1. Post-Holi care

Do not get any skin or hair treatment like facials, waxing, bleach, or hair color after 10 to 15 days from Holi.

Give your skin and hair some rest before you use more chemicals on them as they become very sensitive during this time. Apply a Multani mitti face pack on alternate days for the next week for soft and supple skin.
