Best Kadhas To Try During Monsoon

Hey! The monsoon season brings joy, happiness, and a much-needed break from the summer heatwaves. So here is it. In this climate we all love to eat hot kanda bhajiya, vada pav, samosa, maggi with chai sitting near the balcony and enjoy it. But along with enjoyment the disease also comes. It’s the season for flu, cough, cold, viral fever, sore throat and dengue . So i have perfect home remedies for you that are kadha, and roasted ajwain & salt. 

1. Tulsi-Haldi Kadha

Let's start with the most famous kadha recipe. Tulsi and Haldi are the two star ingredients that are enough to keep the infections at bay, add a sweetener of your choice, and boil. To make this, all you need is just four ingredients- tulsi leaves, turmeric powder, honey/jaggery, and that's all. 

  1. In a saucepan, add 2 cups of water, and let it come to a rolling boil.

  2. Slightly crush the tulsi leaves with your hand and add this to the boiling water.

  3. Add haldi and let this boil until the water has reduced a little in quantity.

  4. Turn off the heat and pour in mugs.

  5. Add a tbsp of honey/jaggery to each mug, stir until dissolved and drink hot.

         2. Kadha

  1. Fill a saucepan with 3 cups of water

  2. Bring the water to a boil. At the same time, crush ginger, black pepper, cloves, cinnamon using a mortar and pestle, into a paste

  • 3. When the water starts boiling, add these ingredients to the water along with some Tulsi leaves

  • 4. Cook this mixture on medium heat for about 20 minutes or till the water levels has reduced to half

  • 5. Strain the mixture and pour it into a cup. You can add some honey or jaggery for added flavour

  • 6. Enjoy a hot sip of your homemade kadha!

  1. Amla - Ginger 

  2. Boil 1 and half cup of water 

  3. Grate 1 inch of ginger and amla into the water

  4. Boil ingredients till it completely dissolves. 

  5. Strain it and drink it. 

This will help you for a cold, cough or sore throat. 

4. Instant relief Kadha

  1. Put mint leaves with stem, crushed black pepper, crushed  cloves, cinnamon, crushed dry ginger, grated ginger, ¼ tsp Chai patti, jaggery (optional), ¼ ajwain into the boiling water. 

  2. Cover infuse on low flame 15 to 20min.

  3. Squeeze half lemon into the cup 

  4. Strain the drink and enjoy it.
