Yogi Adityanath Gets Death Threat To Be Killed Like Baba Siddique

Mumbai Police detained a woman for allegedly sending a death threat against UP CM Yogi Adityanath, linked to rising fear around gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

The fear surrounding gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has been increasing, especially since the shooting incident at Bollywood star Salman Khan’s Bandra home in April 2024. Following this, attacks were reported on rapper AP Dhillon's home in Canada and the assassination of Maharashtra’s minister, Baba Siddique.

Recently, on 2nd November 2024, Mumbai Traffic Police's control room received a threat against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. A WhatsApp message from an unknown number warned that if CM Adityanath did not resign within ten days, he would face a fate similar to that of Baba Siddique.

Mumbai authorities responded quickly, launching an investigation to trace the message’s sender and alerting the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS). With CM Adityanath scheduled to visit Maharashtra soon for the state assembly election campaign, his security in UP has also been increased.

On 3rd November, the Mumbai Police detained a 24-year-old woman named Fatima Khan from Thane, suspecting she sent the threatening message. Fatima, who holds a BSc in Information Technology, reportedly suffers from serious mental health issues. She was brought to Mumbai for further questioning and a mental health assessment to check her condition.

Some sources suggest that Fatima has not been formally arrested but only detained for questioning. The investigation continues, especially as the Maharashtra State Assembly elections are approaching on 20th November 2024.
