Former RSS leader's remarks on CJP protests spark outrage; videos against Army also go viral.

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protests continue to make headlines across the country. This time, the controversy is linked to remarks made by T.G. Mohandas, a former RSS leader from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, who runs the Malayalam political YouTube channel Pathrika.

On 24–25 July, Mohandas uploaded videos in which he made controversial comments about the student protests in Delhi. In one video, he claimed that the protests could lead to incidents of sexual assault and made remarks about women protesters that sparked widespread outrage.

In another video, he said that if he were in charge, he would have imposed a curfew and ordered protesters to leave. He added that if they refused, he would have ordered police to open fire, even if it resulted in deaths or serious injuries, saying the situation would have been resolved quickly.

Following the controversy, the Thiruvananthapuram Cyber Police registered an FIR against Mohandas on 29 July. Police said the videos could disturb public peace and create unrest. The case was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Soon after, the RSS distanced itself from Mohandas' remarks. The organisation said his comments were his personal views, that he does not hold any position in the RSS, and that the organisation strongly condemned his statements.

Mohandas later issued a clarification, saying that the controversy was created by people who watched only short clips on social media instead of the full 31-minute video. He also claimed that Malayalam humour and expressions often lose their meaning when translated into English, making sarcastic remarks sound serious.

Meanwhile, another controversy related to the CJP protests has also gone viral. Several videos showing some protesters allegedly making abusive remarks against the Indian Army have sparked strong reactions on social media.

One widely shared video shows a man insulting Army personnel by referring to the Pahalgam terror attack. The identity of the man has not been confirmed, but many people criticised his remarks and said they were disrespectful to soldiers who risk their lives protecting the country.

Former Army officer Lieutenant Vamshi also reacted through an Instagram video. He criticised those abusing Army personnel and gallantry award winners, saying people should respect the sacrifices made by soldiers who serve the nation.
