Kindness, Willingness, Love, Determination, Selflessness and a bunch of thousand such words combined together makes a woman. Pain beyond imagination, sacrifices beyond words, Yes that makes a woman. Everyone needs a woman when in a mess because just like a game of chess The Queen protects you even if you are the King. 8th March, International Women’s day. Today on the occasion of International Women’s day, ISH News is here to tell you why India was always ahead of the world in empowering WOMEN

India has the Highest Number of Women Pilots:

There are a total of 17,726 registered pilots in India, and of these, 2,764 are women. India holds the record of highest women pilots in the world. Indigo has the highest number of female pilots in India. Also, India has twice the number of women pilots compared to most Western countries, including Australia and the United States 

Occupations where Indian Women have massive dominance over Men’s

  • Nursing & Healthcare Services: 9 out of 10 People working in the nursing and healthcare sector in India are Women’s which brings the percentage to about 90%. In Nursing, women are preferred over men as women are compassionate and kind with patients.   

  • Primary School Teachers: According to several surveys 50.74% of all regular primary school teachers in India are Women, which again makes women to hold the dominating position.

  • HR & PR JOBS: Almost 65-85% of Jobs in the field of PR(Public Relations) is held by Women, while on the other hand Jobs around 50% of the job profiles in the field of HR (Human Resources) are occupied by women, also HR is the field where Indian Women’s are even seen serving at very high ranks.
    Some Indian Women who made us proud:

Hima Das: Hima was the first Indian athlete to win gold at the IAAF World Under 20 Athletics Championship. She went on to win gold and silver medals at the Asian Games held in Jakarta last year. 

Mary Kom: Mary created world history after winning her sixth gold in the World Boxing Championships last year. This has put her in the coveted No.1 position. This Indian boxer, who comes from a small town in Manipur, has become India’s favourite sportsperson after shining at several International platforms.

Avani Chaturvedi: This young Indian Airforce officer became the first Indian woman fighter pilot to fly solo. Avani became an inspiration to many young women by flying the MiG-21 Bison, a fighter aircraft known to have the highest take-off and landing speed in the world at 340 kph.

Kalpna Chawla: Kalpana Chawla was an Indian-born American astronaut and engineer who was the first woman of Indian origin to go to space. She first flew on a rocket in 1997. However in her second rocket in 2003 she died while landing on earth. 

Above mentioned are the list of a few Indian women who made us feel proud on an international level, although if we start naming every Indian Woman who made us proud the list would probably become a never-ending story.

Although a woman irrespective of the work profile she is in is a warrior, A woman who is a scientist to a woman who is a housewife, every woman is a super-woman.
