Woman Shouts at BJP Leader in Protests
During a BJP rally led by Girish Mahajan in Mumbai, a traffic-stuck woman confronted him over roadblocks, sparking a viral video and political reactions.
On 21 April, Maharashtra minister Girish Mahajan was addressing media during a BJP ‘Jan Akrosh’ rally for the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’ in Mumbai. The march from Jamboori Maidan to NSCI Dome caused heavy traffic in Worli.
Amid the chaos, a woman stuck in traffic confronted Mahajan, demanding roads be cleared instead of holding rallies on public streets. The viral video shows her arguing with him and the police; some reports claim she also threw a bottle.
Activist Anjali Damania backed the woman and demanded action, while opposition leaders like Nana Patole and Rohit Pawar criticised the BJP.
Mahajan later apologised for the inconvenience but criticised the woman’s behaviour, saying the situation could have escalated given the large crowd.
