Woman Kills Live-in Partner Who Denied Marriage

A woman in Ghaziabad was arrested for murdering her live-in partner after she was spotted by policemen carrying a large suitcase.

A 35-year-old woman in Ghaziabad was arrested early on Monday on 8th August on the charges of murdering her live-in partner after she was spotted by policemen carrying a large suitcase in the mid-night. The police officers forced her to open the trolley bag as she was acting weird and found her partner stuffed inside, with a deep cut on his throat.

The woman, identified as Priti Sharma, was taken into custody. During her interrogation, Sharma allegedly told the police that she intended to leave the suitcase with the body on a train. Police said the dead man inside the trolley bag was Mohammad Firoz who was 22 years old and had been in a relationship with Priti Sharma for about four years. Firoz used to work at a salon in Delhi.

Abhijeet Shankar, assistant superintendent of police (Sahibabad) said the two had a fight late on 6th August about marriage. Preeti had been pressuring the dead man to marry her after having stayed in a live-in relationship for about four years. Firoz, however, refused to marry her,” he said. After which Sharma lost her cool and slashed his throat with a razor. Police said Priti Sharma told them that she was married to a man named Deepak Yadav but left him due to some domestic issues and started living with Firoz.

Police said Firoz’s family in the Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh had been informed about his death. The woman is being questioned about the murder to establish the chain of events.However, a case of murder has been registered against Preeti Sharma, who is now under police custody.
