FIFA has started an investigation into the clashes that broke out after Spain defeated Argentina in the FIFA World Cup final on 19 July 2026. If found guilty of misconduct, several Argentina players could face disciplinary action or bans.

In Bengaluru, fans of actor Vijay celebrated the release of his film Jana Nayagan by bursting firecrackers inside a packed cinema hall. A video of the incident went viral on social media. While some people praised the fans' excitement, many criticised the act, saying it put the audience's safety at risk. No injuries were reported.
