India’s cricketer Virat Kohli and his wife Bollywood actress Anusha announced on social media that they have been blessed with a baby boy and named him ‘Akaay’.
Virat Kohli has been on leave recently and missed India's Test series against England amid rumors that he and Anushka Sharma are expecting their second child. While the couple did not make any pregnancy announcements, South African cricketer AB de Villiers revealed on his YouTube channel that Virat and Anushka were expecting their second child and therefore Virat was away to spend more time with his family. However, a few days later, AB de Villiers retracted the statement by saying that he had shared false information and that he didn't know why Kohli had taken a break. Recently, there were rumors that Anushka Sharma was going to deliver her second baby at a hospital in London. The couple shared identical posts on social media announcing the arrival of their second child 5 days later on 20th February 2024. The post described how happy & full of love the second time parents & big sister Vamika are and seeked the blessings & good wishes from their fans and followers. The baby boy was born on 15th February 2024 and has been named ‘Akaay’. With the latest photo of Virat from London, many social media users are convinced that the child was born there. Akaay means immortal, 'body-less' or 'Nirakaar', something that doesn't decay in the Sanskrit language and ‘a shining moon’ in Turkish. In the same post, they also requested everyone to respect their privacy at this time. The comment section on both the celebrities’ posts were flooded with messages within minutes. Bollywood celebrities including Ranveer Singh, Rakul Preet, Alia Bhatt, Shweta Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Huma Qureshi etc. along with ace Indian cricket players like Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni etc congratulated the couple and wished best wishes to Akaay. Within minutes of the announcement, hundreds of fake accounts claiming to be belonging to the newborn Akaay began popping up on social media to claim appropriate usernames & get a high number of followers.
