The exciting IPL 2023 is over. The IPL final was to be played between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. But due to heavy rain the match had to be postponed to the reserve day 29th May 2023.

A video of 28th May 2023 circulating on the internet gained attention. The video shows the hygienic way in which sandwiches were being made and sold to the spectators who were at the stadium for the match to start. The people preparing the sandwiches can be seen applying butter with bare hands without wearing gloves.  The person who posted the video also revealed that food inside the stadium was being sold at inflated prices due to the adverse weather conditions. He said that the sandwich that was originally priced at Rs 150 was being sold at Rs 250 during the rain. Fans criticized the hygiene standards and the poor management. Many took to their social media platforms to express their dissatisfaction with the BCCI. Many commented that the pani puri seller on the street is more hygienic. Many said that this is a new way for the BCCI to collect more money.
This is not the first instance of fans raising concerns about mismanagement at the venue. Earlier during the Mumbai - Gujarat match chaos erupted at the stadium as fans gathered in large numbers to collect their tickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Paytm is the official online ticketing partner. Despite the option to provide e-tickets, they failed to deliver the  e-ticket and instructed buyers to collect their tickets from the stadium. This led to a chaotic situation almost like a stampede during the ticket collection process at the Stadium.
