Vikrant Massey is a Bollywood actor. He is being loved by more-n-more people everyday. Vikrant’s recent interview is getting a lot of views & attention from the public. What did he say in it? Let’s find out! In the video podcast interview with ‘Unfiltered By Samdish’, which was released on Youtube on 19th February 2024, Vikrant made several revelations about his personal life and Bollywood journey. He spoke how his friends’ behavior changed after they visited him in his small broken house, how he gave up ?35 lakh per month salary package to pursue acting and how he used to take pocket money from his girlfriend, now wife during his struggling days. But the one that caught the most attention was his statement on religion. Vikrant said that he comes from a family background where they follow different religions and have different beliefs. Vikrant’s mother is a Sikh, while his brother changed his religion to Islam when he was 17. His father follows Christianity & goes to Church twice a week, while he believes in Hinduism. Therefore, he has seen a lot of arguments related to religion and spirituality from a young age which has led him to conclude that religion is man-made. But it looks like Vikrant's statement got him into trouble. On 20th February 2024, a Mumbai-based advocate Ashutosh Dubey shared screenshots of the chat he had with Vikrant politely requesting him to delete a tweet Vikrant posted in 2018. The screenshot led people digging through Vikrant’s X (Twitter) timeline. The controversial tweet featured a political cartoon of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita in connection with the rape cases that were making headlines at the time. The cartoon showed Goddess Sita saying “I’m so glad I was kidnapped by Ravan and not by your bhakts!” to Lord Ram while holding a newspaper in her hand. Vikrant had shared the cartoon on X (Twitter) with the caption “Half baked potatoes and half baked nationalists will only cause a pain in the gut. #KathuaCase #Unnao #Shame,” The 6 year old tweet started getting endless negative comments & backlash. People called it “hurtful” and “obscene”. As a result, decided to delete the tweet and issued a public apology. In a fresh tweet posted on 21st February 2024, he wrote that it was never his intention to hurt, malign or disrespect the Hindu community. He realized the distasteful nature of his tweet and accepted that the same message could have been conveyed without sharing the cartoon which was published in a newspaper. He also wrote that he holds all faiths, beliefs and religions with the highest possible regard.
