Train Kills Migrant Workers in Aurangabad

In a freak accident, a train has run over migrant workers, killing 17.

Due to the lockdown, Migrant workers working at an iron factory in Jalna were walking to reach Bhuvasal to catch a bus to Madhya Pradesh. They had to walk for 170 km. After walking 45km they become very tired and the Migrant workers end up sleeping on train tracks between Aurangabad and Jalna. An empty goods train coming from Aurangabad ran over the sleeping migrant workers. 17 of them died. 

A few children died as well. The incident took place at around 6 AM. Police and railway authorities rushed to the spot to assess the situation. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu tweeted condolences to the bereaved families. "Deeply saddened to learn about the loss of lives in a train mishap in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. My heartfelt condolences to bereaved families," he said.
