T20 World Cup: India Faces a Massive Defeat in the Semis

India is out of the T20 World Cup after it lost its semi-final game in a one sided win by England.

In India, cricket is not just a game, it is an emotion which runs down the hearts of a billion people. And the thrill of this emotion is even more, when we talk about the World Cup.Currently, the final stage of the T20 World Cup is going on in Australia, and India is finally out of the tournament after it lost its semi-final game against England on 10th November 2022. Although the Indian team performed very well in the tournament, winning 4 out of the 5 matches in the league matches. Meanwhile, India scored 168 Runs with the loss of 6 wickets. However, the England Openers Jos Buttler & Alex Hales’ aggressive batting England managed to win the match in just 16 overs without losing a single wicket. This resulted in the end of India’s journey in the WT20 trophy race. After India faced defeat in its semifinal game, pictures & videos of the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma with teary eyes started to surface all over the internet. After the match, the cameras caught Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, wiping away tears as he looked devastated after the loss.  He was then calmed down by head coach Rahul Dravid. The Internet was also flooded with pictures of other cricketers & their sad reactions after the loss.

Notably, the final match of the ICCT20 World Cup 2022, Will be played between England & Pakistan on 13th of November in Melbourne. On a funnier note, Many fans and experts have linked Pakistan's current run at the T20 World Cup, with their run in 1992 Cricket World Cup. The Imran Khan-led side in 1992 had then defeated England in the final to lift the World Cup. While these could be just a coincidence, Pakistan had a similar run at the tournament, which was also played in Australia. Lost to India in the group match Similarly, like 9th November 2022, Pakistan had then also played against New Zealand in the semifinal. In Fact the venue where Pakistan won their first World Cup is where the final match is about to take place this year. In 1992, Pakistan played England in the final, same in 2022.

While Babar and his team are hoping for a repeat, fans have already started connecting the coincidental dots and predicted Babar to become the Prime Minister in the future as it was seen in Imran Khan's case. Even India’s legendary former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar was seen sarcastically joining this game of connecting dots with 1992’s Pakistan’s World Cup victory.
