Sri Lankan Cricket Receives Terror Warning

The Sri Lankan Cricket Board has received terror warnings from Pakistan just before the start of their cricket tour in Karachi and Lahore.

The Sri Lankan team is going to play three ODIs in Karachi, as well as a few T20Is in Lahore between September 27 and October 9.On Wednesday the Sri Lankan Cricket Board received a warning. Terrorist groups warned the Sri lanka that they would the Sri lankan team if they came to Pakistan to play cricket. 10 Sri Lankan players have already decided not to take part in the matches with Pakistan. Sri Lanka’s PM has told the cricket board to decide if they still want to visit Pakistan for the match. 

The Cricket Board decided not to cancel the tournament. They have decided to check the security arrangements again. In 2009, the  Sri Lanka cricket team went to Lahore to play a Test Match. When the team was in their bus, a few gunmen open fired at the bus and injured 6 players. 6 Pakistani policemen and 2 civilians were killed because of this. Because of this incident, International cricket teams have refused to visit Pakistan to play matches.
