Sonu Sood Evaded Tax Worth Rs 20 crore
According to the Central Bureau of Direct Taxes (CBDT) bollywood actor Sonu Sood and his associates were involved in ?20 crore tax evasion.
We had recently released a video about the Central Bureau of Direct Taxes (CBDT) raiding the offices of actor Sonu Sood and a Lucknow based real estate company after a land deal between them. The Raid was because the IT department suspected Sood for not paying taxes. 28 premises belonging to Sood & his Sood Charity Foundation were also raided. Even the lucknow based real estate firm was also raided. The raids were going on for 3 days. During the raid the IT department found proof that Sonu had not paid crores of rupees in taxes. They found that Sonu Sood and the real estate company got into many illegal deals to avoid paying taxes. They also said Sood routed his “unaccounted income in the form of bogus unsecured loans from many bogus entities”.
It has also been revealed that these bogus loans have been used for making investments and acquiring properties,
CBDT said Sonu has not paid almost 20 crore in taxes.
Also the Sood Charity Foundation was established during the peak of the Covid-19 outbreak last year.
According to the CBDT, Sood’s organisation has collected donations worth ?18.94 crore since April 1, 2021. Of this, around ?1.9 crore has been spent so far on various relief work, while the remaining ?17 crore is lying unutilised in the bank account of the foundation.
Sonu Sood and his team have not responded yet.
