Sonam Kapoor’s Delhi House Robbed of Rs. 2.4 Crore

Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor and her husband Anand Ahuja are based in London but they also have homes in India. When in India, they reside in Anand's New Delhi house. In this house even Sonam’s father-in-law, Harsh and mother-in-law, Priya and grandmother-in-law, Sarla stay. The house is located near Amrita Shergill Marg and was allegedly robbed of Rs 2.4 crore. Sarla Ahuja, grandmother claimed that she got to know of the theft on February 11 when she checked her cupboards for jewellery and cash. However, they then lodged a complaint at the Tughlaq Road police station on February 23. Soon after, the Delhi Police started their investigation. The news of the theft was kept under wraps due to this being a high-profile case. Although the case is still under investigation, the police have disclosed further details about the theft. DCP Amrutha Guguloth (New Delhi) said, “We received a complaint from the family alleging that cash and jewellery worth Rs 2.4 crore was stolen from their house and an FIR has been registered. Teams have been formed, and evidence is going on.” The police are also checking the CCTV footage from last year to help identify any suspects. A case under IPC section 381 was registered and an investigation was started but no arrest has been made by the police so far. Delhi Police is currently questioning the family’s domestic workers and staff members, including 25 employees, nine caretakers, drivers, and gardeners. 

Even the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has been involved in this ongoing investigation, and it is being reported that they are also collecting evidence. Last month, a report had also claimed that Sonam's father-in-law's firm was duped of Rs 27 crore. In that case, 10 people were also arrested. Meanwhile, Sonam and Anand are in Mumbai. Sonam is expecting her first child with Anand. She is currently at her father Anil Kapoor's house. In a latest update, the Delhi Police On 13th April arrested two people –  nurse Aparna Ruth Wilson (30) and her husband Naresh Sagar (31) for allegedly stealing cash and jewelry worth Rs 2.4 crore 

 Wilson worked as a caretaker (nurse) to help Ahuja’s mother and Sagar works as an accountant at a private firm. Police officer said, “Based on the questioning and inputs, we sent a team to Sarita Vihar, Delhi where Wilson and Nagar were apprehended (caught). They admitted to their crime and were arrested,” said the officer. However, the stolen jewelry and cash are yet to be recovered.
