Singer SP Balasubrahmanyam & Minister Jaswant Singh Pass Away

Legendary singer and Former Union Minister Jaswant Singh have passed away. Watch our latest video to learn more.

Legendary singer S P Balasubrahmanyam had been in hospital since 5th August. He was 74 years old. Mr Balasubrahmanyam. On 25th September Mr Balasubrahmanyam's son S P Charan that SPB had died. Some weeks ago, S P Charan announced in a video posted on Instagram: "We were expecting dad's lungs to improve but unfortunately he is still on a ventilator. But the good news is that dad is COVID negative. SPB was watching cricket on the iPad as well as writing and communicating.” S P Balasubrahmanyam has won six National Awards and has sung 40,000 songs in 16 languages. He worked a lot for Ilaiyaraaja and A R Rahman. In the Hindi film industry, he sang for Salman Khan in several films. He was also an actor, producer and voice actor. SPB also won the Padma Shri and the Padma Bhushan.


Former Union Minister Jaswant Singh also passed away in Delhi on 27th September. He was 82 and died after a cardiac arrest at Delhi's Army Hospital where he had been admitted in June. Jaswant Singh was a close aide of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Their friendship lasted a lifetime. He had served as India's Foreign, Defence and Finance ministers when Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the Prime Minister. Mr Singh was also an Army officer in the 1950s and 60s. He resigned from the army to join politics.Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his shock at Mr Singh's death and said he had worked hard for India first as a soldier and later as a minister.
