Several claims are being made that a Shivling has been found inside the Gyanvapi Masjid Complex which is located right next to the “Kashi Vishwanath Temple.”- Watch full story

Recently several PIL’s and petitions were filed to open the 22 Closed doors of Taj mahal claiming it to be a Hindu Temple which was later captured by Mughal Ruler Shah Jahan who converted it into Taj Mahal.

However, the Allahabad high court completely outlashed the PIL's, claiming them to be baseless.

In another such incident from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, Several shocking claims are being made that a Shivling has been found inside a pond in the Gyanvapi Masjid Complex which is located right next to the very famous Kashi Vishwanath Temple. If you know every hindu temple which has a Shivling also has a Nandi which is placed right in front of the Shivling, However in the case of Kashi Vishwanath Temple surprisingly there is one Nandi Bail without a Shivling in front of it, which is surprising. Moreover, since last several years Hindu’s have been demanding the search of Shivling which according to claims might have been hidden somewhere inside the Mosque premises which was constructed later. A few Hindu women then filed a PIL in the court requesting access to hindu shrine which according to claims is located behind the Mosque. The court ordered a search operation in the complex. Earlier a search was held on the orders given by the court after a PIL was filed. The "Shivling" was said to be found on the morning of 16th May on the last day of the search being held at the mosque complex. According to the shocking claims, Water was drained from the pond and a "Shivling" was found, claimed Subhash Nandan Chaturvedi, the lawyer representing a group of Hindu women who have filed the PIL. However, the pond which was earlier being used for "Wazoo" or purification rituals before the namaaz has now been sealed for the public as ordered by the court on the demands made by the hindu petitioners. The unhappy Muslim side appealed the Supreme Court against the trial courts order to seal the pond which according to them was hindering their constitutional right and stopping them to perform their routine religious practices inside the mosque. In response to this the Supreme Court said that “the area where the Shivling is found should be sealed, but no religious practice inside the mosque premises should be affected, as it is the right of every Indian to perform their religious beliefs without any hindrance. However in the latest update the Hindu petitioners are now demanding the demolition of the Masjid wall which separates the Kashi Vishwanath Temple with the pond inside the Mosque where the Shivling has been found. Moreover, if we talk about  the other side of the story, The Muslim petitioners rejected the claimed of Shivling being found inside the pond, claiming it was a "fountain, not a shivling". As per the claims made by the muslim side the structure which is being said to be a Shivling has some holes in it which cannot be in a Shivling. However, countering these allegations, The Hindu side believes that the holes are because of the years-long decaying of the Shivling inside the water, or it is because of some external force applied by people to destroy the Shivling structure and make it look like a fountain.

Soon after this dispute surfaced in the media, It took a political turn in almost no time when Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya tweeted: "However much you hide the truth, it always comes out". Following which the AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi said Muslims are not prepared to lose "another mosque" after the Babri Masjid.

What do you think about this whole story? Do you think the object found inside the pond is actually a Shvling, or is it just a fountain? Do mention your thoughts in the comment section below.
