Shikhar Dhawan & Wife Divorce After 8 Years
Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan and his wife Ayesha Mukherjee have parted ways after eight years of marriage.
Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan known for his outstanding batting was married to Aesha Mukerji for 8 years. Aesha Mukerji, who is originally from West Bengal but moved to Australia when she was 8-years-old, is a trained kickboxer and a sports fanatic based out of Melbourne. The couple have a 7-year-old son together named Zoravar, who was born in 2014. This is Mukerji’s second marriage and she has two daughters from her first marriage. Dhawan had adopted her daughters as well. Like famous cricket couples, Virat Kohli & Anushka Sharma, MS Dhoni and Sakshi Dhoni, even Shikhar Dhawan & Aesha were one of the most adorable couples. They were known as the perfect couple. However, there were many rumours going around that they are having problems in their marriage and would divorce soon. Finally Aesha put an end to the rumours by announcing their divorce on her Instagram account.
Earlier her name on Instagram was ‘Aesha Dhawan’ but she now changed it to Aesha Mukerji.
She posted a black and white picture of herself with the caption :
I always thought divorce was a very bad thing. When I got divorced for the 1st time I felt like a failure. I felt as if I had let everyone down and even felt selfish. Now I am getting divorced again and again. I felt the same. But then I took some time to think and realised that I am taking this step for a better life for myself and my children. This is why I feel empowered. If there is anyone who is scared to divorce their husband because they are ashamed of what society will say, please be brave and remember to do what is best for your life.
Ayesha posted all this on her instagram but Dhawan has not said anything about the divorce. Shikhar Dhawan is currently in the United Arab Emirates where he will be playing for the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.
