SC Orders States to Provide Security to Kashmiris

Supreme Court orders security forces in the country to take measures to help reduce violence and discrimination against Kashmiris. The SC has also asked officials to immediately respond to complaints

Since the Pulwama attacks, Kashmiris were attacked all over India. The Supreme Court (SC) on 22 February 2019 ordered Security forces in all the states to make sure the people of J&K are safe. The SC has also told the Police to take immediate action if anyone files a complaint.

There have been many incidents of violence against Kashmiris in the states of Maharashtra, Bihar, Uttrakhand, and West Bengal. The SC has asked the Delhi Police to be on High Alert.

Following the SC orders, the Ministry of Home Affairs told all the state governments and the union territory administrations, to take necessary steps to prevent assault and threats against the Kashmiris. The Ministry of Home Affairs is also worried about the Kashmiri students who have faced a lot of trouble all over the country.
