The richest woman of India, Savitri Jindal witnessed a never before seen rise in her wealth in 2023. According to the data from the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Savitri outpaced India’s richest men Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani. Savitri’s net worth increased by a whopping $9.6 billion in the calendar year 2023 while Mukesh Ambani’s net worth grew by only $5 billion. While Mukesh Ambani still maintains his title of India’s wealthiest individual with a total fortune of $92.3 billion, Savitri’s higher registered net worth is drawing a lot of attention. Her net worth rise has led Savitri to become the richest woman in India and India’s 5th wealthiest individual with a total net worth of $25.3 billion as of 19th December 2023. Savitri is the chairperson of the OP Jindal Group which was established by her industrialist & businessman late husband OP Jindal. The OP Jindal group is the parent company that controls and oversees JSW Steel, Jindal Steel & Power, JSW Energy, Jindal Saw, Jindal Stainless, and investment firm JSW Holdings. Following Savitri in the list of top wealth gainers in 2023 is Shiv Nadar, founder of HCL Tech with the recorded net worth rise of $8 billion and DLF real estate tycoon KP Singh with net worth rise of $7 billion in 2023. Apparently, Gautam Adani is the only top richest Indian registered loss instead of gain in 2023. Adani faced a net drop of $35.4 billion in his wealth.
