Sanju Samson Gets an Offer to Represent Ireland in Cricket

Recently, reports have emerged suggesting that the Ireland Cricket Board has offered Sanju Samson a permanent place in its team.

Over the last few months, there have been a lot of debates regarding the selection of Sanju Samson in the Indian cricket team. A lot of cricket fans think he has got better records and has more talent than many other cricket players who are currently getting chances and have failed to perform well continuously. Sanju Samson, who is a wicket keeper and batsman, has played a total of 11 one-day international matches scoring two half centuries. Meanwhile, in T20s he has played a total of 16 matches scoring 1 half century.  Shockingly, this 28-year-old wicket keeper/batsman from Kerala has not played a single test match in International cricket so far. In the IPL, he is currently the captain of Rajasthan Royals. In IPL, the very talented Sanju has played 128 matches, scoring 3 centuries and 17 half centuries. Over the years, Sanju Samson has also proved his capabilities, however has failed to get into the selectors attention.

Now, after cricketers like Rishabh Pant & KL Rahul, who are also wicket keepers, have failed to perform in the past few months, cricket fans all around the country are not happy with Sanju Samson not getting selected. But it has been wisely said that if you have talent and you are consistent, your talent will find its way. This has been also proven in Sanju Samson’s story, after reports have emerged suggesting that the Ireland Cricket Board has recently offered Samson a place in its team. The Report suggests that the Ireland board promised Samson that he would feature in all matches and he should shift to Ireland to pursue his cricketing career. Sanju Samson, however, rejected the offer saying that he wants to represent India and could never imagine playing for another country at the international level.

After this news emerged, a lot of people again started criticising the BCCI selectors by telling them to learn from the selectors of other countries which actually respect talent and hard work. Fans are also appreciating Sanju Samson’s patience after he rejected Ireland’s offer and showed his willingness to represent India at the International level as a permanent figure in the team. What do you think about this young Indian cricketing talent which is currently getting wasted? Do mention your thoughts in the comment section below.
