A police officer Ravindra Patil who was appointed as Khan’s bodyguard was with him and told him not to drive but he did not listen. He told the police that Khan was driving. However, Salman Khan’s driver came forward and said that the driver was driving and not Salman. Because of this the case dragged on for years. He feared he was in danger so he disappeared and no one knew where he was. Some said he was kidnapped. On 6 May 2015, Khan was found guilty of drunk driving and killing 1 person and was sentenced to 5 years in jail but Salman got bail on the same day and Salman filed an appeal. The driver was arrested for lying. In December 2015, Khan was acquitted of all charges from this case due to lack of evidence. 1 man died on the road and 1 policeman’s life went to waste because he said the truth about Salman.
