The Sabarimala temple dedicated to Lord Ayyappa reopened at 5:00 pm on Monday after about 2 weeks. The Shrine will close at 10:00 pm on Tuesday.

Devotees from within Kerala and other neighbouring states jammed into the pilgrim center. Protests were done last month against the ban that was lifted on the entry of women between the age 10 to 50.

At Least 15 women police who are over the age of 50 have been posted at the temple complex.

However, the devotees and the activists who protested at several places against the restrictions at Sabarimala are not happy with these security arrangements.

Intense checking is being done by the police which is upsetting to the pilgrims.  The pilgrims also complained about the lack of facilities at the base camps, which were damaged during the August flood.
