The coronavirus pandemic has put all the hotel/restaurant owners in trouble. But owners are not letting their enthusiasm go down. They have increased their creativity to bring back customers. Earlier an eatery in Madurai created mask-shaped parottas called ‘Mask Parottas’ and the "Corona Dosa." Recently pictures of coronavirus sweet dishes, "Corona Sandesh" and "Corona cake" was created by a popular Kolkata based sweet shop, went viral on social media. Now a Jodhpur based restaurant called VedicMulti-Cuisine has come up with a new dish called "Covid Curry" and "Mask Naan."
The Covid Curry is like regular Malai Kofta curry. The only difference is that it has pointed crowns resembling the shape of the coronavirus, as revealed by scientists. Mask Naan is the regular butter naan, but in the shape of a face mask. Restaurant owner Anil Kumar said they aim to bring their business back on track with the new menu addition. He said, "We thought we must create something interesting that would generate interest and make people curious and make them come back to restaurants." He added that their team is following all necessary precautions including proper hygiene and social distancing.
Kumar informed them that they received positive feedback and saw a rise in reservations after the launch of these dishes. Twitter users have been circulating its images with hilarious remarks. A twitter user asked, "Would we have to wear a PPE kit to eat it?" Others wrote, ‘It happens only in India” or “Dish of the Year 2020”
