Ram Mandir Construction to Begin on Ram Navami

After the Supreme Co7urt finally resolved the Ayodhya dispute, reports suggest that the construction of the Ram Mandir will start on Ram Navami.

After more than 70 years, on Saturday 9th November 2019, the Supreme Court announced the Ram Mandir-Babri Masjid case.  Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi announced that the 2.77 acres of disputed land will be given to the Hindus to build the Ram Mandir. The construction of the temple will begin on Ram Navami which is Ram’s birthday on 2nd April. The "pre-construction" work will reportedly begin on Makar Sankranti, January 14, 2020.

The construction of the temple will be completed in 2-3 years mostly before 2022 Uttar Pradesh elections. It is not known if any ground breaking ceremony will be held before the start of the construction.

A Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) said that 2nd April is the best date to start construction for the temple. The three-month deadline for setting up a trust ends in February and by then, all preparations would be completed. The VHP wants the temple to be constructed as per the design prepared by architect Chandrakant Sompura.
