Rajasthan Police Investigate Allegations Involving Pregnant Teen

Police in Rajasthan’s Dausa district are investigating allegations of sexual assault involving a 16-year-old girl who was pregnant at the time. The case came to light after she reached a hospital with her newborn, who was declared dead.

What Happened Near the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway?

According to the complaint, a group of young men allegedly took the girl to an isolated place near the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway and sexually assaulted her. The girl reportedly went into labour and gave birth at the location. She later reached a hospital with the newborn, but doctors declared the baby dead.

The incident took place in the Kolwa police station area of Dausa district.

Police Register Case and Detain a Suspect

After hospital staff informed the police, officers recorded the girl’s statement and registered a case. A Deputy Superintendent of Police was assigned to investigate. Police also conducted a medical examination. Reports said the girl was stable and receiving treatment at the hospital.

A suspect named in the case was detained for questioning. Police were also examining the circumstances surrounding the incident and gathering evidence.

What Did the Initial Police Update Say?

Dausa Superintendent of Police Kundan Kanwaria said that the initial investigation had found no evidence contradicting the girl’s statement.

Police also learned that a male friend had taken her to the hospital on a motorcycle. This detail alone does not establish whether the alleged assault occurred. The allegations and the circumstances of the incident remain under investigation.

Investigation Continues

Police are continuing to examine the case and gather evidence. The allegations have not been established as facts by a court, and the investigation is ongoing.
