Indian badminton star PV Sindhu, on Monday 2nd November, gave a mini-jolt (shock) to her fans after sharing a few images on Instagram. In the image it was written, "Denmark Open was the final straw. I RETIRE," which was written in bold. However, in the other images in her post, there is a twist.

Let me tell you what she said. She said, "I've been thinking about coming clean with my feelings. I have been struggling to deal with it. This pandemic has opened my eyes. I can train, work hard, and defeat the world’s best badminton player. But how do I defeat this invisible virus? Every time I step out I think of ways to protect myself. I read so many heartbreaking stories about the lockdown and COVID-10 online. When I was not able to represent India in the Denmark Open, I decided to retire. I have decided to retire from Negativity.  I have decided that I will not take COVID protections such as masks, sanitizers, social distance, lightly. We all have to fight this virus seriously so that our future and the future of the next generation is safe and secured.”

Sindhu, “I know I gave you a mini heart attack. I wanted you all to get shocked and read my post. I want to tell you, right the world is struggling to contain the virus. But we must not give up hope. Just like how I have not given up because I was not able to take part in the Denmark Open. I will continue training and will towards taking part in the Asia Open. I will continue to fight against the COVID virus and I will fight to achieve my dreams. I hope you do too.”
