Purple Fest 2025: A Grand Celebration of Inclusion and Accessibility

Purple Fest 2025 at Rashtrapati Bhavan was a grand celebration of inclusion, featuring engaging activities, adaptive sports, and the Hon’ble President’s presence.

The much-awaited Purple Fest 2025 took place on 21st March at Amrit Udyan, Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, creating a vibrant space for inclusion and accessibility. Following the success of the 2024 editions in Goa and Delhi, this year’s event brought together persons with disabilities (PwDs), supporters, and dignitaries for a day of empowerment, awareness, and celebration.

Hon’ble President Attends Closing Ceremony

A major highlight was the presence of the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, who attended as the Chief Guest. She participated in the closing ceremony, further emphasizing the nation’s commitment to disability rights and inclusion.

Engaging Activities and Performances

Purple Fest 2025 featured several exciting zones, including:

- Amrit Udyan Visit – A special tour of the stunning gardens for PwDs and students.

- Purple Live Experience Zone – Cultural performances, dance workshops, and interactive competitions.

- Purple Sports – Adaptive sports like wheelchair basketball and blind football were a big attraction.

- Abilympics - National Level Skill Championship – Showcasing the talents of PwDs in various trades.

- Purple Café – A unique café where chefs with disabilities prepared delicious food.

- Purple Books, Movies & Canvas – Aspiring artists, writers, and filmmakers interacted with industry experts.

Mr. Vicky Shah, a representative from India Signing Hands (ISH), also attended the event, engaging with attendees and spreading awareness about accessibility in media.

With its inspiring activities and enthusiastic participation, Purple Fest 2025 was a resounding success, reinforcing the message that disability is not a limitation but a celebration of unique abilities.
