Punjabi Singer & Politician Sidhu Moosewala Shot Dead

One of the country’s most popular singer, the one who combined Punjabi folk songs and the modern age rap together, whose security was taken back a day before he was finally murdered on the road- Watch

Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, popularly known as Sidhu Moosewala was a 27 year old Punjabi singer and was the only child of his parents. Yesterday he was murdered in Mansa district. The news of his death has gone viral on social media and news channels. He was a very famous punjabi singer and his death has come as a huge shock to fans. He then entered politics by joining the Congress but had lost the elections. On Saturday 28 May 2022, the Punjab withdrew the security of 424 VIP people, including Moosewala. The security cover was withdrawn as a part of CM Bhagwant Mann government's exercise to crack down on VIP culture. Moosewala had 4 security guards but after the CM’s order his security was reduced to 2. He went for a drive in his Mahindra Thar along with two other men who were sitting inside the vehicle. He has a bullet proof Fortuner but he did not take it. The singer did not take his two guards. Moosewala’s vehicle was being followed by two other vehicles, which finally blocked the path of Moosewala’s car.
 

Moose Wala's SUV was sprayed with bullets and he was found slumped on his seat and bleeding heavily. He was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him dead. 30 rounds of bullets were fired at him. Moosewala was then immediately taken to the nearest government hospital where he was declared dead even before the treatment could have been started. Fans and his family are protesting against the government for withdrawing his security. Punjab police said that the attack seemed to be due to a gang-war. Lawrence Bishnoi gang is involved in this murder. Goldy Brar, member of the gang has taken responsibility from Canada. Goldy Brar said that Moose Wala's manager Shaganpreet was involved in the murder of a man named Vicky Middukhera & his Brar’s brother Gurlal Brar last year. The gang felt that that moosewala was involved and murder him to take revenge for Middukhera's murder. 


 

Moose Wala was a self-made singer. He was the one who combined Punjabi folk songs and the modern age rap together. But he really loved his village Moosa. He decided to use the surname ‘Moosewala’ which means from Moosa. He said he did not want to be known by his name but the name of his village. His songs, which he wrote and composed himself,  made it to the Top 5 in the UK charts last year. But the lyrics of his songs were very controversial. He was also booked for promoting violence and gun culture with his song “Sanju”.

He loved to help the poor and work for his community. He had said: “When I was 23, I chose a profession to transform the life of my parents. At 27, I have fame and money to give to my parents, but I can’t buy the air. Rich or poor we breathe the same air.” Cancer was another cause which Moose Wala worked for. He said, “We are a small village of 2,800 people but every year, at least six to eight people get diagnosed with cancer. It’s all because of the toxins in our soil and air. This is why every year I organise a free cancer check up camp in muy village.” he said. Although, He was a frequent lawbreaker breaker and severed cases were filed against him. Among several cases, he was booked under the Arms Act for firing an AK-47 rifle at a shooting range during the lockdown. His death deeply shocked millions of his fans, along with celebrities and politicians who expressed their grief at his sad and untimeley demise.

 

However, soon after his death, this murder took a political turn as several of politicians were seen blaming the chief minister of Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann for taking bak the security cover which was given to the young singer.Bhagwan Mann took to his twitter to express his condolence and assured that justice will be delivered by punishing everyone who is responsible for this terrible crime. A special investigation team will investigate his death.
