Pune Woman Paralysed After Accident At Water Park

A fun family outing turned tragic when a woman was left paralyzed after a negligent water slide accident at a Pune tourism center.

What should have been a joyful escape from the summer heat turned into a life-altering tragedy.

Ashwini Napte, visiting the Jay Malhar Agricultural Tourism Center in Chincholi, Pune with her family, decided to try a water slide. But the moment she descended, disaster struck—there wasn’t enough water at the base. Instead of a safe landing, she hit the ground with brutal force and lost consciousness instantly.

Doctors later confirmed devastating injuries: four fractured spinal vertebrae, leaving her permanently paralyzed from the waist down.

Her family alleges glaring negligence—no proper safety measures, no ambulance on standby, and no immediate medical help. They were forced to arrange private transport in a desperate race to save her.

Following the incident, Shirur Police have registered a case against the tourism center’s owner and manager for negligence.
