Condoms, gutka, and stones found in samosas at a Pune auto company, leading to the booking of five individuals and sparking concerns about food safety.

Bizarre Incident Unfolds as Condoms, Gutka, and Stones Found in Samosas at Pune Auto Company

In a shocking turn of events, employees at a prominent automobile company in Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune, made a startling discovery on 6th April 2024 when they found condoms, gutka, paan masala, and stones concealed inside samosas provided at their canteen.

The incident led to swift action by authorities, resulting in the booking of five individuals - Rahim Shaikh, Azhar Shaikh, Mazhar Shaikh, Firoz Shaikh, and Vicky Shaikh - in connection with the case. Investigations revealed that Catalyst Service Solutions Pvt. Ltd., responsible for snack provision at the auto company, had outsourced samosa supply to Manohar Enterprise.

Further scrutiny uncovered that Firoz Shaikh and Vicky Shaikh, associated with Manohar Enterprise, allegedly tampered with the samosas by adding condoms, gutka, and stones. Prior to this, SRA Enterprises had supplied samosas until their contract was terminated due to allegations of adulteration, including the discovery of a bandage in the samosas.

In a bid to retaliate against losing the contract, individuals from SRA Enterprises, namely Rahim Shaikh, Azhar Shaikh, and Mazhar Shaikh, reportedly dispatched Firoz and Vicky to tamper with the samosas, tarnishing the reputation of Manohar Enterprises.

The accused have been charged under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including section 328 (causing harm by means of poison) and section 120B (criminal conspiracy). While one person has been arrested, investigations are ongoing to unravel further details surrounding the incident.

This bizarre occurrence has sparked concerns about food safety and underscores the need for stringent measures to prevent such incidents in the future. Authorities are urging vigilance and prompt action to safeguard the well-being of consumers and uphold standards of food hygiene and integrity.
