This year as per the Election Commission's rule, Lok Sabha Elections candidates Hema Malini and Raj Babbar have declared their Income tax returns for the last 5 years, foreign assets and their crimina

Earlier candidates taking part in the Lok Sabha Elections had to declare only the previous years Income Tax returns for themselves, spouses and dependents. This year as per the Election Commission's rule, all candidates taking part in the Lok Sabha Elections, must declare their Income tax returns for the last 5 years themselves, spouses and dependents as well as all their foreign assets.

Hema Malini a Bollywood actor as well as a BJP MP, contesting the Lok Sabha Elections from Mathura in Uttar Pradesh. Recently she declared that her total assets are worth Rs 250 crore. Over the last 5 years, her assets have seen an increase of 40%. According to the documents submitted by her, she has Rs 5.61 lakh cash in hand, Rs 1.46 crore bank balance, vehicles worth Rs 1.01 crore and jewelry worth Rs 2.91 crore. Her husband Dharmendra had to declare his income tax returns as well. His assets are worth Rs 123.85 crore.

Bollywood actor Raj Babbar with the Congress party is contesting for the Lok Sabha Elections from Fatehpur Sikri. He declared his total assets to be worth Rs 18.26 crore. According to his documents, he does not own any vehicle, but his wife owns a Mercedes car worth Rs 6.80 lakh.

Election Candidates have to declare if there are any criminal cases pending against them as well. According to Hema Malini’s affidavit, she has no criminal case registered against her. However Raj Babbar has many cases against him. He  faces charges of rioting, attempt to murder, cheating, forgery and many more.
