PM Modi Twitter Hacked With Bitcoin Post

PM Narendra’s Modi's Twitter account has over 73mn followers. His Twitter account is very famous and he constantly keeps posting updates and shares his views on Twitter. On Sunday 12 November 2021 morning, a Tweet was posted on the account which said, “India will stop using Rupees as its official currency as the India government has officially bought 500 BTC (Bitcoin) and is distributing them to all residents of the country.” The tweet said to follow the link to get the free bitcoin. People were shocked to see this Tweet but immediately it was deleted. Later another tweet was posted which said that Modi’s account had been hacked for a short period of time but now the government has gained control of the account. The Tweet was posted by the hacker and India will continue to use Rupees as its official currency. People were very shocked by this.The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has launched a probe.  CERT-In will also involve Twitter & GOOGLE in the investigation. 

It is reportedly attempting to determine the source of the hacking event using the most up-to-date technology.  

This Tweet is coming at a time when the Indian government is planning to impose strict rules on  cryptocurrency in India. This is not the first time Modi’s social media was hacked. In September 2020, the Twitter account of his personal website was hacked by an unknown organization. Many renowned Twitter accounts have recently been hacked to promote cryptocurrencies—including US President Joe Biden, ex-US President Barack Obama, rapper Kanye West, and billionaire entrepreneurs Bill Gates and Elon Musk.
