PM Modi Inaugurates Yashobhoomi Center On His Birthday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first phase of the international convention and expo center "Yashobhoomi" in Dwarka, New Delhi on Sunday 17th September 2023, which also marks his birthday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi turned 73 on 17th September 2023.  The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the government planned a number of outreach programs and initiatives. 

 

Here are the highlights of some of the programmes / events 

 

  • Yashobhoomi: 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first phase of the international convention and expo center called "Yashobhoomi" in Dwarka, New Delhi. Yashobhoomi has been developed at a cost of about Rs. 5,400 crore. It aims to provide a world-class experience for hosting conferences, meetings, and exhibitions in the country. The Yashobhoomi Convention Center has 15 convention rooms, 13 meeting rooms, and a grand ballroom.  Additionally, it reportedly features the largest LED media façade in the country and state-of-the-art seating facilities. The center's plenary hall can accommodate around 6,000 guests, while the grand ballroom can host around 2,500 guests. It also has an extended open area capable of seating up to 500 people. The center has a total seating capacity of over 11,000 delegates. Yashobhoomi has rainwater collection alternatives as well as a modern wastewater treatment system with 100% wastewater reuse. The center houses one of the largest exhibition halls in the world and is suitable for hosting exhibitions, trade fairs, and business events. It also boasts an underground car parking facility with a capacity of over 3,000 cars and more than 100 electric charging points. The government intends to connect Yashobhoomi to the Delhi Airport Metro Express line. The total travel time from New Delhi to Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25 will take around 21 minutes.

 

  • Vishwakarma Yojana

The Vishwakarma Yojana was launched on 17th September. The scheme aims to help artisans, craftsmen, and traditional skill practitioners, who largely come from the Other Backward Class (OBC) segment. The scheme has an outlay of Rs. 13,000 crore.  

 

  • Bank account: 

Moreover, the Gujarat BJP announced that it will open bank accounts for nearly 30,000 schoolgirls on PM Modi's birthday under the women empowerment initiative.

 

  • PM Modi Portrait: 

A BJP worker in Pune showcased PM Modi's portrait using grains and millet. It was created by artist Ganesh Khare and his team in 18 hours.

 

  • Wellness programs: 

Apart from this inauguration, to commemorate PM Modi's 73rd birthday, the government initiated a fortnight-long "Sewa Pakhwara". The campaign will continue until 2nd October, Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary. The Health Ministry launched the Ayushman Bhav campaign, which aims to promote healthcare for economically weaker sections of society. Under Ayushman Bhav, there would be various activities like Ayushman Apke Dwar 3.0, going to houses for health check ups, Ayushman Mela or Health camp will be held. 

Besides this, Swachhta Abhiyaan, Organ Donation, and Blood Donation campaigns will also be held.
