Phase 4 of Lok Sabha Election Polls

The fourth Phase of the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections for 72 parliamentary constituencies, were held yesterday on 29th April 2019.

The fourth phase of the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections were held yesterday on 29th April 2019. Elections were held across 9 states for 72 Lok Sabha seats. The phase 4 of the election reported a 64% voter turnout.

The poll percentage in Bihar was 58.92%, 63.77% in Jharkhand, 66.52% in Madhya Pradesh, 55.88% in Maharashtra, 64.05% in Odisha, 66.44% in Rajasthan, 55.57% in Uttar Pradesh. West Bengal recorded the highest voter turnout of 76.7%. The lowest voter turnout was recorded in J&K’s Anantnag district in Kulgam. It was just 9.8%.

Elections were held peacefully in most of the states, except for a few incidents of violence in West Bengal and a few EVM glitches. In Asansol, West Bengal, BJP candidate and Union Minister Babul Supriyo allegedly entered a polling booth with his armed security guards and breaking the rules. They even misbehaved with security personnel who tried to stop them. A FIR was registered against him.

In Mumbai billionaires and many Bollywood stars also cast their votes. The voter turnout in Mumbai was 55.6%. More than 1.8 crore voters in Mumbai were between the ages of 18-19.121 polling booths in Jharkhand were fully managed by women.
