A few months back Johnny Depp and Amber Heard were viral on social media. The divorced couple had made nasty allegations against each other and the courtroom trials felt like a dramatic TV serial. Everyday there was some viral video on social media. Johnny Depp became the most loved and Amber Heard became the most hated. However Amber Heard was a nobody. Just a mere struggling actress. 

They both met on the sets of The Rum Diary in 2009. During that time, Johnny Depp was in a long term relationship with French actress Vanessa Paradis while Amber Heard was dating photographer Tasya Van Ree. Following the split with their respective former partners, the two began secretly dating in 2011. According to many Amber became famous because of Depp. It was with his contacts she became successful in Hollywood. They finally got married in 2015 in a very private ceremony on Depp's private island in the Bahamas.

In May 2016, Los Angeles police were called to a domestic dispute at Depp’s Los Angeles home, but determined there was no evidence of a crime. 

Days later, Heard filed for divorce (citing irreconcilable differences) and a restraining order, accusing Depp of repeated domestic violence under the influence of drugs and alcohol. She was granted a temporary restraining order, while Depp’s representatives vehemently denied all allegations of abuse. Depp said that it is Amber who abusive and crazy during their relationship. The divorce went for a long time in court. Depp’s lawyers said that Amber is a money hungry woman and only wants publicity. August 2016 they settled their divorce for a reported $7 million right before a hearing on the restraining order was scheduled to begin. Heard took the money and dropped the restraining order. So heard got her 7 million dollars and the divorce was finalised in 2016. Then why is that 6 years later they are again in court abusing each other? Now what happened? So basically in December 2018, Heard wrote an article in the Washington Post. She said that Heard claimed that she was a domestic abuse survivor. However, she did not name Depp. She said in our culture women always keep quiet but she urged people to speak up and not remain quiet. It was a very strong article. The article went viral and everyone knew she was speaking about Johnny. When news broke out, it badly affected Johnny Depp’s career. People started calling him a wife beater. Heard claimed that she was a domestic abuse survivor. However, she did not name Depp. Depp was sacked from  Disney’s saga 'Pirates of the Caribbeans, which is producing the sixth part of the movie. The actor also was "forced" by  Warner Bros to leave the  Harry Potter spin-off film series ‘Fantastic Beasts’. He lost millions of dollars and his reputation took a big hit. All the while Amber Heard came to be known as domestic abuse survivor and she became very very very famous. In March 2019, Depp filed a defamation lawsuit asking for $50 million in damages, saying that the piece hurt his career and cost him movie roles and “incalculably (and immediately) damaged his reputation as a public figure. April 2019 In April 2019, Heard filed to dismiss the case and detailed years of alleged abuse beginning in late 2012. Heard has alleged that Depp would punch her, kick her, head-butt her, grab clumps of her hair and, on one occasion, sexually assaulted her with a liquor bottle.
