Pakistan: Youtuber Shot Dead for Shooting IND vs PAK Vlog
A Pakistani YouTuber was shot dead by a security guard for filming the IND vs PAK T20 World Cup match’s vlog in Karachi Mobile Market on 9th June 2024.

As always, the matches are fun & full of surprises. The most awaited IND vs PAK match took place on 9th June 2024 with India defeating Pakistan by 6 runs. Every year, the age-old rivalry surfaces whenever the two countries lock horns on the pitch. Both celebrate victories like festivals and deal with the losses with anger & frustration. However, this year, the hyped IND vs PAK match led to a shoot-out and bloodshed.
Just hours before the match, Pakistan media reported a gruesome incident about a local YouTuber being shot dead in Karachi. The story goes something like this:
Saad Ahmed was a Pakistani YouTuber. On the day of the match, Saad went to Karachi’s mobile market to film a vlog on the upcoming IND vs PAK match. He spoke to several shopkeepers, passersby, and locals about it and recorded his conversation with them.
After that, Saad went to a security guard named Ahmed Gul (35) near Serena Mobile Mall and initiated the conversation on the topic but the guard was not interested in talking about the match & featuring in Saad’s video. He even stopped him but Saad continued to question him repeatedly.
Footage from nearby CCTV cameras also confirms Saad interacting with the guard. Eventually, the guard lost his cool and shot Saad several times. Saad was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
A local Instagram handle named “khattti.meethi.baateinn” also shared the news of Saad’s death along with one of his old vlog videos. The handle included the statement from the security guard in the caption of the post. The caption quoted the guard as saying, “He kept on bringing the mic close to my face and filming. I lost my temper and fired at him.”
One of Saad’s friends told Pakistani reporters that Saad had called him before leaving for the market & explained his shoot plan & idea. He also said that Saad was the sole breadwinner for his family and is now survived by his mother and his wife.
The Karachi police have arrested the security guard.
This tragic incident has shocked everyone and overshadowed the excitement of the match.
