Pakistan: Groom's Father Showers Cash On Bride's House From Plane
A Pakistani groom’s father hired a private plane to shower money over the house of his son’s bride in Hyderabad, Pakistan sparking mixed reactions online.
Weddings, nowadays, are known less for the holy union of 2 souls but for their grandiosity, elaborate customs, and peculiar trends. Recently, a groom’s father from Hyderabad, Sindh province of Pakistan hired a private plane and used it to shower money over the house of his son’s bride. The video of the same has gone viral on social media. In the video, a plane is seen flying over the bride’s house & showering lakhs of rupees in cash on it while people watch in astonishment. Some reports even suggest that this grand gesture by the groom's father was done at the request of the bride's father, however, this isn't confirmed. The incident has left internet users both bewildered and amused. While some are calling it a lavish gesture, others are criticising it as a sheer waste of money. One user on X (Twitter) re-shared the video with the caption, “This is an example of how not to spend your wealth.” Another commented, “Instead of throwing cash from the skies, this money could have been used to help the underprivileged.” Many are taking a humorous dig at it too. One user commented, “The groom’s father rented a plane for his son’s wedding and dropped millions of rupees on the bride’s house. Now it seems the groom will continue to pay off his father’s debt for the rest of his life.” Another wrote, “Forget the groom; the bride’s neighbours must be the happiest people right now.” Here are some other recent unconventional wedding trends that went viral. Recently in India, a wedding car decorated entirely with vegetables such as carrots, brinjals, and radishes went viral. Another one was the couple’s grand entry on a bullock cart to honour their rural heritage. Recently, a video showed the bride making her way to the wedding stage encased in a giant transparent balloon while dancers dressed as Lord Krishna and Goddess Radha performed gracefully around her, creating a surreal and dramatic visual. While this unique concept drew significant attention, it also sparked criticism, with many questioning the appropriateness of depicting Lord Krishna & Goddess Radha as dancers at a wedding.
