Pahalgam, a famous tourist spot known for its beautiful scenery, was crowded with visitors. In the Baisaran area of Pahalgam, many people had gathered to take photos with the stunning natural background when the terrorists suddenly appeared.
The attackers, who were dressed in local police uniforms and wearing masks, started firing randomly at the crowd.

Vinay Narwal, an Indian Navy officer, who had married just 7 days ago, was on vacation with his wife in Kashmir. Sadly, he was killed in the attack. A heartbreaking photo of his wife sitting silently next to his body has gone viral on social media.
Eyewitnesses shared painful experiences.
One woman said that while some terrorists were firing, others caught hold of Hindus and forced them to recite the Azan (Islamic prayer). After that, they resumed firing and shot her father and uncle.
Another woman shared that she was eating bhelpuri when a terrorist came close and shot her husband, saying, "You are not a Muslim."
A video is also going viral where a woman can be heard screaming, "Save my husband, please," during the attack.
In another tragic incident, a man from Karnataka, Manjunath Rao, was killed in front of his wife Pallavi. Shocked and heartbroken, Pallavi asked the terrorists to kill her too. One terrorist reportedly told her, "I won’t kill you. Go tell this to PM Modi."
Some unconfirmed reports also say that terrorists forced men to remove their pants to check their religion before killing them.
Who Claimed Responsibility?
The Resistance Front, which is a part of the terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba run by Hafiz Saeed, has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Former US President Donald Trump has strongly condemned the attack and extended support to Prime Minister Modi and the people of India.
The current US Vice President, JD Vance, who is already in India for an official visit, also condemned the attack and expressed his support.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted on X (Twitter), condemning the attack and offering condolences to the families of the victims. He has promised strong action against those responsible.
At the time of the attack, PM Modi was on an official visit to Saudi Arabia. As soon as he heard the news, he cut short his trip and returned to India to review the situation.

PM Modi has already held a high-level meeting with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
