No Fan or Bed for Rhea in Mumbai Jail

Rhea Chakraborty is currently in the Byculla Women’s Prison facility and there have been several reports that she has named prominent Bollywood celebrities in connection to the death of Sushant Singh

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) is currently investigating a case related to actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. Recently it was reported that arrested actor Rhea Chakraborty and the other accused in this case have named several high-profile celebrities during questioning and NCB is preparing a list of Bollywood stars in connection with the investigation. Reports also said that Rhea has taken the names of Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh, filmmaker Mukesh Chhabra, designer Simone Khambatta and publicist Rohini Iyer in her statement to the NCB.

 

NCB’s Deputy Director KPS Malhotra said, “We have not prepared any Bollywood list. The list earlier prepared was of peddlers and traffickers.It is getting confused with the Bollywood list. We still have not decided on the names of Bollywood celebrities. Earlier on 12 th September morning NCB had raided seven locations across Mumbai and Goa in connection with this case. NCB will make more arrests soon. Rhea was arrested by the NCB after three consecutive days of interrogation. Her brother Showik, and two staff members of Sushant have also been arrested.

 

A Mumbai court denied bail to Rhea, her brother and four other accused in the case. All of them will

now remain in jail until 22nd September. Rhea is in the Byculla Women’s Prison facility. As per reports, Rhea is in a separate cell. She does not have a fan, bed or pillow to sleep on. She only has a mat to sleep on. A table fan may be given to her if allowed by the court. Rhea is guarded by two constables in three shifts. All prisoners in the jail are given turmeric milk for immunity to protect against the COVID-19. She will again apply for bail in the Mumbai High Court this week.
