Naga Chaitanya Gets Engaged to Sobhita Dhulipala
Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala got engaged on 8th August 2024, sparking mixed reactions due to the significance of the date related to his ex-wife, Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
Famous Telugu actor Naga Chaitanya, previously married to Samantha Ruth Prabhu, got engaged to actress Sobhita Dhulipala on 8th August 2024. The couple had a private ceremony at Chaitanya’s home in Hyderabad, with only family and close friends in attendance. Chaitanya's father, superstar Nagarjuna, was the first to share the happy news on social media, posting photos of the couple and mentioning the special date ‘888’ (8th August 2024).
In the engagement photos, Sobhita looked stunning in a peach silk saree, adorned with traditional South Indian gold jewellery and peach flowers in her hair. Chaitanya complemented her look in a royal ivory white kurta pajama with a cream-colored stole. Fans and colleagues from the industry filled the comments with blessings and congratulations for the couple.
However, some fans of Samantha Ruth Prabhu were upset with the engagement date, as it was reported that Samantha had proposed to Chaitanya on 8th August several years ago. Many took to social media to express their displeasure, accusing Chaitanya and Sobhita of intentionally choosing this date. Despite the mixed reactions, both Chaitanya and Sobhita have not publicly commented on the matter.
Samantha, on the other hand, shared a social media post celebrating the Indian hockey team's achievement at the Paris 2024 Olympics, shortly after the engagement announcement.
Chaitanya and Sobhita, who have been in a relationship for some time, are expected to tie the knot later this year, though no official date or venue has been announced yet.
