Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train on Hold

Then new CM of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray had ordered that all the big developmental projects that were started by the BJP will be put on hold and reviewed. Most importantly the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet train will be reviewed.Maharashtra Minister Jayant Patil said that, new government will go through all the projects and see if the projects are worth their costs. He said to make the bullet train, Maharashtra will have to take a loan of Rs 6.71 lakh crore. 

The government has called a meeting of top officials to discuss the Bullet Train project and what will be their loss if they go ahead with it. The farmers and tribals in Palghar area near Mumbai are totally against the project and are asking the government to drop the project.Uddhav Thackeray has said that his main priority is the Farmers of Maharashtra and not the bullet train. 

The Japan International Cooperation Agency is a Japanese government organisation that helps countries across the world with various development projects. They have agreed to fund 81% of the total cost. The remaining cost is to be borne by the Maharashtra and Gujarat governments.The bullet train is the pet project of [Box 09 PM Modi. Only the future will tell what will happen of it.
